Uganda
Safari Adventures
Uganda is a land of fable, a land
of mists and enormous inland seas, of diverse people and the last
of the Gorillas. This East Africa territory has attracted people
of a multiplicity of races and tongues to its land for hundreds
of years. Today's travelers are, however, not drawn to Uganda because
of its wealth in ivory and other riches that were obtained by destroying
its natural heritage but rather visit this beautiful country to
sample this richness that is manifest in its warm and friendly people,
its enchanting landscape with its variety, its views of endless
blue waters and the mighty River Nile and its population of wildlife
in the conservation parks of Queen Elizabeth, Murchison Falls, Lake
Mburo, and Semliki among many others.
In Uganda, the Bwindi impenetrable
forest is the sanctuary for almost half the world's population of
Mountain Gorilla's ( About 330 of 600 ), which is the rarest race
of Gorilla. Established as a safe habitat for several families of
mountain gorilla , it is now the location of an an important scientific
conservation programm. Gorilla Tracking visits are limited to small
groups.
